My D has rec'd an offer for the BFA program and for many reasons, it's a strong contender. I need to know if anyone else has had experience with the school. Ready, set, go! (Thank you)

Summer Stock
Hey y'all! I'm a current MT freshman and everyone in my class is going crazy over summerstock auditions. I'm applying for Strawhats and I plan on auditioning at several open calls in NYC (I already attend school here). I'm also hoping to do video applications/auditions for a few. This process is 10000X more terrifying to me than the college audition process, so I wanted to start a forum where current college students/graduates/their parents share their personal experiences with auditioning for summerstock theatres! (There are a few older forums on this but I just wanted to make an updated one). So if anyone has any thoughts, stories, advice, etc. on this process PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share!
I personally am wondering if anyone has attended any open calls in NYC, and what those were like? It's so intimidating to me because most of the open/non-equity calls are the day after EPA and ECC auditions and I feel like a baby. Hoping someone has some insight on this!

LIU Post's MT Program?
I recently got accepted to LIU Post's musical theatre program after my walk-in audition at NYC Unifieds! It was my most enjoyable audition yet, and I felt like the students and admissions people who were there were all very close and very excited about the school! Many other kids that I talked to who had auditioned also commented that they felt like the auditor was very interested them as a unique individual, and I would agree with that. The auditor was actually the only one I have met who actually stood up and shook my hand before I started! I'm interested in the program, but I don't know much about it! Does anyone here feel like they could give an overview of the program or even share their opinions about it?

Western Illinois University BFA Musical Theatre still auditioning
For those of you still looking for a BFA Musical Theatre audition - I would suggest Western Illinois University. I hire summer stock actors from MidWest Theatre Auditions every year and the last few years the kids from that school have gotten stronger every year. Pretty sure it's due to a faculty member now in her 3rd or 4th year there. PM me if you want all the details of this school/audition. I know they accept video auditions and have another on campus audition Saturday, March 25th as well. Plus they have waived the out of state tuition. Check it out. And break a leg everyone!

Webster Acting Decisions Class of 2021
Hi! First time poster here….after Emerson's decision came out today, it seems all I'm waiting on is Webster. So far I've been accepted to OCU and rejected from OU, Otterbein, and Emerson. Not a great feeling. Does anyone know when Webster's decisons are being mailed? I'm getting really anxious…lol!

2017 SETC
Anyone going to SETC in a few weeks in Lexington, KY? We are going with our son, a HS junior. He is thinking about a MT program for college so we thought this would be a good introduction so he could see the level of competition and get some feedback. Also doing some general college touring the same week. Never been to one of these large audition programs before, so should be interesting!

Western Carolina University - Musical Theatre Program
Hi,
I am trying to make Western Carolina U have a larger online presence. We are a very new program. Next year marks our 10 year anniversary. Our audition numbers and our class numbers have grown significantly in the past 4 years. I am currently a Junior MT here.
I could type out lists and lists of the WONDERFUL THINGS here at the school. But I wanted to save that and see if anyone had any questions about the school, the program, etc. I find that it helps hearing it from a student rather than (HEAR SAY).
Terrence Mann still comes in annually to teach masterclasses as well direct a show. Since I have been here at WCU he has directed A Grand Night for Singing, Kiss Me Kate last year and is currently directing Sweeney Todd this year.
If anyone has any questions on the program please ask. You can find more info and media on our website.

CCM (University of Cincinnati- College Conservatory of Music) vs. Theatre School at DePaul
Hey everybody! I'm looking to pursue a BFA in Stage Management. I have narrowed my acceptances down to two choices. but I'm stuck between CCM and the Theatre School at DePaul. Can anyone speak to the quality of these two programs especially in regards to technical theater? Is there anything I should know about either of these schools that isn't on a website or brochure? Even if you don't know anything about them as schools for technical theater, I would really appreciate any opinions you have especially if you are a current student, parent, or alum. Thank you so much for your opinions!

LIU Post
I'm interested in hearing from students/parents about the MT program. We haven't been able to do a campus visit yet and from my research I feel like I'm getting conflicting information on the quality of program. Some of the articles I have seen mention past financial trouble. Anyone aware of the current financial state and if/how it is affecting the quality of the program?
Thanks :)

FAFSA and internationally adopted children
I now have my second notice from a school that the FAFSA form indicated uncertainty about my daughter's citizenship. So I have to send Certificate of Citizenship (or a copy anyway) to them. I'm trying to figure out which government agency I need to get this information corrected by. Is it IRS? Social Security? Thoughts, anyone? TIA.

Negotiating scholarships / financial aid - how to?
As we all getting closer to making some extremely important decisions, including taking up new financial responsibilities, I though I would ask past years' parents to share their experience, advice and tips on negotiating awards (scholarships and financial aid) on behalf of their students. What are the best tactics, whom to approach, when to start, how to state your case, how and when to follow up, etc. What schools have you had experience dealing with, and whether or not you have succeeded?
We, parents of the class 2021 will be immensely grateful to you for sharing...
